Early Exposure by the Faculty of Medicine, President University: Waspadai Cacing Kremi pada Anak Sekolah, Lindungi Buah Hati dari Enterobiasis

Cikarang, September 17, 2025 — The Faculty of Medicine, President University, once again conducted an Early Exposure activity as part of its community-based learning program. This year’s activity carried the theme “Beware of Pinworm Infection in School Children: Protect Your Child from Enterobiasis” and took place at President Elementary School on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

The event aimed to raise public awareness—especially among elementary school children—about the dangers of pinworm infection (Enterobius vermicularis), which commonly affects children due to poor personal hygiene. Through this activity, medical students from President University had the opportunity to apply their basic medical knowledge directly in the field while actively promoting public health.

During the program, students conducted height and weight measurements, as well as screening for worm infections and anemia among President Elementary School students. The examinations were carried out under the supervision of lecturers and healthcare professionals to ensure that all procedures met medical and ethical standards. In addition, the students delivered interactive health education sessions on the importance of handwashing, keeping nails clean, and consuming nutritious foods to prevent worm infections.

The activity was met with great enthusiasm from both students and teachers. The children participated eagerly in the educational sessions and health checks, which were carried out in a fun and engaging atmosphere. The teachers expressed their appreciation for the initiative, recognizing that the medical students not only learn theory but also contribute meaningfully to the well-being of the school community.

Through this Early Exposure program, the Faculty of Medicine, President University, hopes that students will gain a deeper understanding of the doctor’s role as an educator and health promoter, while fostering empathy and awareness of children’s health from an early age.
