President University Faculty of Medicine Holds “Vitamin D Wellness Program: Strong Bones, Strong Immunity” — A Real Commitment to Workers’ Health

Cikarang, June 19, 2025 – In an effort to educate the public and raise awareness about the importance of bone health and a strong immune system, the Faculty of Medicine at President University held a wellness event titled “Vitamin D Wellness Program: Strong Bones, Strong Immunity.” The event took place on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 08:00 to 12:00 WIB, at the Faculty of Medicine campus, located at ex-D’Kayangan, Jababeka Industrial Area, Cikarang.

This program was targeted at industrial workers and the surrounding community, with the aim of providing free preventive health services while emphasizing the importance of vitamin D in maintaining overall quality of life.

Focus on Bone Health and Immunity

Vitamin D plays a crucial role in the formation and maintenance of healthy bones, while also supporting the immune system. A deficiency in vitamin D has been shown to increase the risk of various conditions, including osteoporosis, muscle weakness, and a weakened immune system, which makes individuals more susceptible to infections.

Through this program, the Faculty of Medicine at President University not only offered on-site vitamin D level testing but also held an educational seminar discussing the benefits of vitamin D, its natural sources, and effective ways to meet daily vitamin D needs in a healthy and sustainable manner.

Free Health Services: Comprehensive Check-Ups for All Participants

In addition to the vitamin D testing, all participants received a Mini Medical Check-Up (Mini MCU), which included:

These services were provided free of charge by professional medical teams from President University’s Faculty of Medicine, including students and lecturers supported by experienced healthcare personnel.

Supplements and Exciting Goodie Bags for Every Participant

As a token of appreciation and to support the health outcomes of the participants, everyone who joined the event received appropriate vitamin supplements along with a variety of attractive goodie bags designed to promote a healthy lifestyle.

This initiative also served as a lively and beneficial health promotion activity, with an interactive atmosphere that encouraged participation and community engagement.

President University Faculty of Medicine’s Commitment to Public Health

The “Vitamin D Wellness” program is part of the Faculty of Medicine's ongoing community service initiatives. It reflects the university’s commitment to addressing pressing public health issues and contributing meaningfully to society.

The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine stated that such programs would continue to be held regularly to address relevant health topics and deliver direct benefits to the wider community — especially workers who are prone to vitamin D deficiency due to limited sun exposure in their daily routines.

“We believe that health education is not solely the responsibility of the government or hospitals, but also a crucial part of medical education institutions. Through this program, we hope participants will not only gain knowledge but also have a meaningful, hands-on experience in taking care of their health,” said a representative from the organizing committee.

Conclusion

With the theme “Strong Bones, Strong Immunity”, President University’s Faculty of Medicine successfully held a program that was not only informative but also had a tangible positive impact on participants' well-being. The event stands as proof that collaboration between academic institutions and the community can foster meaningful change in promoting healthier lifestyles across Indonesian society—particularly among workers who often neglect their health due to demanding work schedules.
